These 10 People Are Changing the World (with Rosacea)

Celebrate Rosacea Awareness Month with me this April! I’ll be debunking 12 of the most common myths surrounding Rosacea on my Instagram, PLUS I’ll be sharing a wealth of information on skincare, makeup, lifestyle and more, to help you THRIVE and embrace your face here on the blog and YouTube.

Rosacea Awareness Month

I talk a lot about my own personal experience living with Rosacea, but my version of this skin disease is just that… my own. The reality is that there is a HUGE range of severity of symptoms depending on the person you talk to. Some, like me, have papulopustular rosacea (a.k.a. acne rosacea), others have profuse flushing with no bumps. The most extreme and painful variation is rhinophyma, which is characterized by skin thickening and harsh redness concentrated on the nose. Whatever the subtype of rosacea you have, we ALL bear the stigma of living with this condition.

To get pumped and ready to dive into Rosacea Awareness Month this April, I’m going to feature 10 People Who Are Changing The World - WITH their Rosacea, NOT despite it. These are women mostly, as I haven’t found too many men on Instagram who openly share their skin journey. (If you’re out there, let me know!) They are movers and shakers covering a variety of passions, not just Rosacea! and people who I truly feel the social media world is better for having.

If you’ve been looking for inspiring accounts to follow of people who have skin just like yours, then definitely be sure to check out, follow, and join the discussion with these amazing individuals.

@Halliebing

Hallie is just an all around amazing individual. She openly shares her life living with ADHD, OCD, and Major Depressive Disorder, along with an amazingly great sense of style (seriously, I wish I could look that cool).

@talontedlex

One of the OGs of the Rosacea Influencers on Instagram. Lex is probably one of the first, if not THE first person to start sharing openly about her skin on social media. I followed her for a solid two years before I worked up the courage to start posting about my own Rosacea experiences.

@rosetintedamy

So sweet and honest, I just simply love Amy. I really enjoy her ‘empties’ posts where she shares what she’s been using skincare wise, how she liked it, and if she’d purchase again. I’m also a huge advocate of being environmentally conscious and ACTUALLY using all of a skincare product is something I admire.

@becca.rosynose_

She’s sassy. She tells it like it is. She’s REAL.

@skincarewithanja

If Gal Gadot had Rosacea… she’d look like Anja. I’m always inspired by her epic makeup looks highlighting her rosacea versus hiding it.

@rosaceaskin

If you’re into minimalism then Kirsty’s feed is for you. She’s simple and straightforward in her posts and many times that’s all you need to feel connected.

@matte.about.makeup

Darlene wears makeup for FUN, not to fit in. Every time she showcases a bold, new look I can tell how much fun she had creating it. I personally don’t wear makeup often, but watching her artistry makes me want to get creative and have fun too!

@makeupandmedicine.dk

Caecilie is a medical doctor and a wealth of knowledge on rosacea and what’s good for our skin type. I learn something new with nearly every post she makes.

@rosegallagher

She’s a makeup artist and just all around amazing person to follow. Her tips are practical, helpful, and make living with Rosacea feel more “normal.”

@in.the.ra

Jessica is a poet and her take on Rosacea and so many other important social topics is deep and profound. She’s also an amazing photographer and her graphic posts are beautiful and moving.
