My Skincare Philosophy.

We should be pampering ourselves, not performing surgery. When it comes to skincare for Rosacea, less is more. During flare-ups all you need is cool water and a medicated topical. When skin is calmer, a gentle cleanser + something to add extra hydration is perfect.

Allow your skin to do its job and heal itself.

Bad flare-ups can cause panic and a desperate need for control. Instead of taking our skin’s cue to “back off” we often end up doing the opposite. Adding more products to try to fix a rosacea flare-up only adds to the irritation and inflammation skin is experiencing. Instead, perform an “elimination diet” of your skincare. Avoid make-up and cleanse with only water for two to three weeks, using only a medicated topical from your dermatologist to treat the flare-up.

You’ll be surprised to find that skin will calm and start to rebuild its natural skin barrier to a balanced state. Then, if you choose to start wearing make-up again you can begin introducing cleansers, moisturizers, and other treatments back into your routine.
